Visit shops that offer locally produced fine art and crafts such as heirloom pottery or handmade dulcimers. Discover the tradition of Ozark crafts as you stroll down Main Street. In Hardy, you’ll find artistic culture alive and well. Craft shops throughout town offer stained glass, quilts, jewelry, needlework, pottery and wooden items such as walking sticks and puzzles.
The rhythm of the Ozarks has echoed through the Hardy hills for well over a century. Since the town was first founded, music has played an important part of its heritage.
Some of Hardy’s most famous residents have been musicians. Grand Ole Opry performers and Hardy residents, The Wilburn Brothers, had hit records in the 1950s and 1960s along with a television show that ran through the mid-1970s. In 2012, Hardy resident Lauren Gray became a Top 40 contestant on the popular music television show “American Idol.”
Hardy area venues currently offer musical entertainment on a regular basis. All types of music genres are featured including Ozarks traditional bluegrass, folk, blues, jazz and indie rock.
