City Of Hardy Appoints New City Attorney


Tonight at the Mar. 7th 2017 meeting, the Mayor and City Council welcomed Attorney Alexander S Bigger as the new  City Attorney. He will replace City Attorney Hollie Greenway. In addition to his appointment it was noted that it will also save the city $400 per month.

Alex is licensed to practice law in Arkansas and is a member of the Arkansas Bar Association. He currently serves as the elected City Attorney for Pocahontas, Arkansas, as the appointed City Attorney for Corning, Arkansas, and as General Counsel for the Clay County Electric Cooperative Corporation.

Raised in Pocahontas, Alex has been a lifelong resident of Arkansas. Alex graduated from Arkansas State University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Marketing. He continued his education in business at Arkansas State University and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration in 2009. Afterward, Alex attended law school at the Mississippi College School of Law in Jackson, Mississippi, and in 2012 he received his J.D., cum laude, along with several honors and awards. While in law school, Alex served as a member of the law review and was a teaching assistant and student mentor for new law students. During his final year of law school, he became certified under Arkansas Rule 15 for Student Practice and clerked at the Craighead County Prosecutor’s Office in Jonesboro.
